5 Ways To Feel Healthier

The past 18 months for me has undoubtedly been a bit of a roller coaster, this has allowed me to realise some of the important things in life.
One of the most important things, which everyone so often neglects is our health and it was something I had seriously neglected.
So I wanted to share with you my 5 things I try to do to feel healthy.

1. Managing your stress and anxiety
I started struggling with anxiety well over a year ago now and for me this can spiral from being stressed and sometimes just minor inconveniences. I find that one of thing I do to try and monitor it is how frequently it occurs by logging it on an app this allows me to figure out patterns of when I might be more anxious or stress within a month. Then around the times when I know it will be difficult I try to check in with my friends and family to keep positive energy around myself. It's sounds simple, but it is the small steps that help you take control.

2. Exercise

I'm not going to lie to you and tell you I'm a fitness fanatic. BUT I think that it is important to try and get out and about at least once a week.
I try to go to Zumba once a week with my friends, it's a great way to get that socialisation and to get a good work out in, it can almost feel like a workout in disguise because you are dancing about and having so much fun you forget what you are doing.
I also like to do meditation & yoga because for me, I find that stretching can really release tension that has built up over an amount of time, I find that working on your breathing helps you find the peace and serenity and I found over an amount of time doing yoga you can genuinely find inner peace and I actually get a really high from yoga and mediation.

3. Hydration

When you feel a bit groggy and under the weather, it is so so so important to stay hydrated it helps to flush all the toxins out of your body.
It genuinely will clear your skin up to drink just water, I have had many friends who have suffered with poor skin and when I tell them about my drinking habits they have tried and been amazed.
I drink around 2L of water a day, at first it is very hard to do but one thing I found helps is if you infuse the water you will drink it a lot quicker. I have a water bottle that is 740ml, so I only need to refill it twice in the day and that is your hydration down for the day. I have one in the morning, afternoon, evening and then I am hydrated, it will take a week or two before you see a significant improvement in your health but I guarantee you will feel 1000x better for it.

4. Balanced Lifestyle
I love love love chocolate, I could eat more than the normal amount and still have room for more however, I find weeks where I overly indulge my skin comes back to tell me off, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a little binge on a naughty treat but all the time and you will not feel great.
A few years back when I first started working in an office environment I use to go to the shop and get a meal deal which consisted of a sandwich, crisps and chocolate. Once it got to winter time I use to get really ill and feel like I have no nutrition. So I started assessing what I was putting into my body after that I realised I was hardly having anything healthy, so I started making fresh food and bringing it to work I became a lot happier and a lot brighter in myself, yes, I had to spend a few hour prepping at the weekend but the long term benefits were clear and I even saved loads of money this way.

5. Sleep
One of the most important things to staying well is a good night's sleep. I have never been great at sleeping and I sleep the least out of everyone I know, but I know my limits the amount of sleep I need to function. I think if you are sleeping at least 6-8 hour a night you will be recharged, however, I do feel if you over sleep it can make you more tired and this can be because you go into another sleep cycle and because you wake up it breaks that cycle, hence making you more tired because you feel like you have woken up in the middle of the night when it is actually 10am.

Until Next Time
