Marley's 7th Birthday!

This week we celebrated one my babies birthdays as he turned 7th, so we decided to throw a little party for him!

We had balloons, cards and little doggy biscuits and we took him for his traditional trip to Pet at Home, where he got to pick out a few toys and some pick'n'mix dog treats!

I even made him a dog friendly birthday cake inspired by Zoella's (aka Zoe Sugg) pupcakes she made for her dog Nala!

If you want to make the cake then here is how to do just that!

What you will need;
A cake tin/mould
A mixing bowl
A wooden spoon
piping bag with star nozzle
Oven (obvs)

Ingredients
2 cups of plain flour
2/3 cup of porridge oat
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups of shredded carrot
2/3 cup peanut butter
2 bananas
2 large eggs
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1/2 cup of honey
2 tsp vanilla extract

Frosting
2 tubs of low fat cream cheese

To make the cake!
To make the cake it is a very simple combine all your ingredients into your mixing bowl. Grab your wooden spoon and mix your ingredients all together unless you have a mixing aid thingy then you can use one of those as it's a lot quicker!

Once everything is all mixed place into your cake tin and place in the oven at about 150°C / 300°F / Gas Mark 2
for about 15-20 minutes.
I used a cake mould which is silicone and which I found new on eBay!

Now your pooch can help you and lick the spoon and the bowl clean as a pre-treat!

Once its out of the oven let it sit in the mould / tin to cool, so it is set solid, it can be a bit fragile just because of the make up of the cake as its dog friendly. Once cooled turn out your cake out on to a board.

Once your cake is out and fully cooled get your cream cheese and if you want you can add a bit of peanut butter as an extra treat, mix it so it's combined and place in your piping bag and ice your cake as you want, if you want to do a similar cake to mine then you can use the star tip nozzle and use short quick downwards motions to create a look that looks similar to their fur!

Now your cake is ready get your prezzies ready for your fur-baby and put some decorations up and invite their park pals around and you have yourself a puppy party!

Marley and his best friend / brother MacKenzie had a little mini party and had a few slices of cake and big snooze afterwards and a nice big walk the next day.

(The picture where the cream cheese looks a bit odd is because it had dried and set into the cake over night as we had it in the fridge over night, don't worry it hasn't gone out of date)

Let me know if you make them on here or on my social media!

Until Next Time
